We built this for ourselves first.

We could not fill the seat.

Around Finance was growing and hiring in Ireland had stopped working. The economy had been strong for a decade, every good accountant was in a good job, and nobody was moving. Job adverts produced nothing. The people who did apply wanted more than the role was worth.

So we tried the routes everyone tries when they cannot hire. None of them gave us a person who was ours.

We got capacity. We wanted a colleague.

Sri Lanka.

We opened our own office in Sri Lanka. Our company, our employees, our equipment, our managers in the room.

Not a supplier. Not a contractor. Not a service we bought by the hour. People who worked for Around Finance and knew our clients.

South Africa.

The Colombo office worked well. It gave us the processing capacity and continuity we needed.

But some roles needed more senior experience, closer working hours and someone available for quick calls and hands-on interaction during the Irish day.

So we added South Africa, an hour ahead of Ireland. Two countries, different strengths, working as one team.

It worked, and people started asking.

Around Finance kept growing on this model. The firm was named one of the Top 3 modern accounting firms in the world by Future Firm.

Other practice owners started asking how we were staffed. Enough of them that we wrote it down.

Doing for other practices what we built for ourselves. Around Finance was named Xero Partner of the Year 2026 (Small) in Ireland, and we are still hiring and growing in both countries for our own firm and for the firms we work with.
